Hey guys! With your trip right around the corner, I wanted to get you some more information. While in Kenya, you can expect to be staying in the house of one of your contacts.
*As far as packing goes, you will need the following items:
Mosquito Net
Sleeping Pad
Sleeping Bag
Headlamp
Bug Spray
Sun Screen
Hand Sanitizer if you want (travel size is more than enough)
Super conservative attire: No shorts or capris, jeans are fine-men- and long skirts-ladies. No tank tops or strapless shirts. Men need to wear long pants when doing any kind of ministry. If you wear shorts you will be seen as a little boy. Ladies need to wear skirts past the knee when doing any kind of ministry. Tip, bring leggings with you to wear under your skirts!
I would also suggest looking on weather.com to see what the weather trends are in Mombasa and Mpeketoni, Kenya for the months you are going to be there so you are prepared and have what you need.
While it’s often fun to go shopping for new items and have your own gear, keep in mind that people you know may have some stuff they’d be willing to let you borrow. Ask around before buying your stuff and see if someone has it—not only will you save money, you’ll provide others with an opportunity to give!
If you have any questions at all, please give us a call here at the office (770-983-1060) x. 246
