Hey guys! With your trip right around the corner, I wanted to get you some more information. Sorry guys for the incorrect info the first time around. Team Kijabe will be staying on your contacts property, but will be sleeping in tents....

*As far as packing goes, you will need the following items:

Tent (1-2 person)

Mosquito Net

Sleeping Pad

Sleeping Bag

Headlamp

Bug Spray

Sun Screen

Hand Sanitizer if you want (travel size is more than enough)

OK, I am sure that most of you were not anticipating a tent. Before you go out and purchase something, ask EVERYONE you know if you can borrow one first. If you know any one who camps and/or hikes a lot, I am sure they will have what you need. If you can not borrow one, go to WalMart, get something not too expensive and then leave it in Kenya so you dont have to carry it back with you! Please call me if you have any questions!

Super conservative attire: No shorts or capris, jeans are fine-men- and long skirts-ladies. No tank tops or strapless shirts. Men need to wear long pants and do your best to cover any tattoos when doing any kind of ministry. Men- You will also need to take out any piercing that you have while in Kenya. If you wear shorts you will be seen as a little boy.

Ladies need to wear skirts past the knee when doing any kind of ministry. Tip, bring leggings with you to wear under your skirts!

I would also suggest looking on weather.com to see what the weather trends are in Kijabe, Kenya for the months you are going to be there so you are prepared and have what you need.

While it’s often fun to go shopping for new items and have your own gear, keep in mind that people you know may have some stuff they’d be willing to let you borrow. Ask around before buying your stuff and see if someone has it—not only will you save money, you’ll provide others with an opportunity to give!

If you have any questions at all, please give us a call here at the office (770-983-1060) x. 246
