My name is Kaitlyn Denielle McLaughlin a lot of people call me KK, and family calls me Katie. I live in Murrieta, California. I grew up in Hemet, California and just moved out of my parents house in January! Hemet and Murrieta are only 30 minutes away from eachother. Both towns are about an hour and a half away from San Diego and Los Angeles. I am currently attending a Junior College called "Mount San Jacinto". I am taking prerequisite courses for dental hygiene school which includes a bunch of general ed and a lot of science classes. I am also taking my first class at Calvary Chapel Bible College and it's a "Missions" class that I am taking for this trip to get as much information that I can. I have a year left of prereqs and then two years at a dental hygiene school. I work a mon-thurs 8-5 job as a dental assistant. Which leaves me a couple hours after work to take my classes.
When in school and also working I don't have a lot of free time. I am always squeezing in worship practices, discipleship meetings, bible studies, church, or coffee/lunch dates with my friends into my busy schedule.
I am just now starting to get out of my shell and be grateful for a talent that God has given me. I have sang in the worship band at church since I was in 8th grade and I am just now starting to enjoy it and not be so shy!
Going off of Nick's examples from his rubric, I love Broccoli! And I love photography, I have always enjoyed it but this is the first semester I am taking a photography class and actually learning about it! Using photoshop is actually the part I like most about photography. I can get sucked into my computer for hours editing pictures and also videos... I love sushi... so much that once my mom bought raw salmon from the store and I cut pieces off and ate it raw!! Yumm haha. I am a recovering GERMAPHOBE! Once I found out I was going to Kenya I quickly tried to stop thinking about the germs on everything, it was starting to ruin my life! I am better now though, lol.
I have been to Mexico a couple of times with my church. We do labor work and last year we visited an orphanage. That was when I realized that I had a heart for missions and children. I am excited for this trip, I can hardly wait till it is actually here! The scary part for me is being gone for 2 months, I don't think I realize how long that is, but I also think it will go by really fast! I think it will make a bigger impact on me then I think and I am excited to see how God stretches me and molds me into who he wants me to be.
Here is a picture of me.. Idk if it worked? And sorry if I wrote too much!
