Hello! I'm Caroline Brock. Some of my friends call me Cline, but most people just go with Caroline. Either is fine with me. I'm a freshman at the University of South Carolina, and I live on campus in Columbia, SC. I'm originally from Spartanburg, SC, which is where I grew up and where most of my family lives. I'm still unsure about what career I want to pursue, so right now my major is undecided. I just started working at the Academic Support Center at USC in January, and I work 4 days a week.

For starters, I absolutely love music. It's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I like almost all types of music (except for country), and my favorite genre is probably alternative rock. I've been trying to learn how to play guitar, but I have the attention span of a squirrel, so I haven't really gotten anywhere with it. I grew up playing sports and I love playing basketball, volleyball, and baseball. I'm a HUGE college football fan, and I've been a Clemson Tigers fan my entire life (even though I attend the rival school).

I love spending time with my family whenever I can make it back home. I have 3 younger cousins at home that are like brothers to me, and I try to hang out with them as much as I can. Whenever I have free time, I'm usually with my friends doing whatever random things we decide to do. I've recently joined Reformed University Fellowship here at USC, and I absolutely love it! Also, I'm a member of a nondenominational church called His Vineyard where my best friend's dad is the pastor.

I really like writing. I was on my high school's newspaper staff and I took as many English classes as I could in high school. I also love reading, science, and history. Actually, I just enjoy learning in general. Okay, I'm not gonna lie...I'm a raging nerd. Anyway, I read that a few of y'all have tattoos. I don't have one yet, but I definitely want one in the near future. Hopefully before we leave for Kenya. Things I dislike with a fiery passion are spiders and needles. Especially needles, so this whole vaccination thing should be a blast...

As far as mission trips go, I've been on some week-long summer trips with various churches where I helped refurbish homes to make them habitable for people in poverty and also did some work with inner city kids. I've never been out of the country for a mission trip (or ever), so I'm pretty excited about this trip!

What I'm most excited for on this trip is what the beautiful people of Kenya are going to teach us, not so much in terms of the culture (which I am excited about), but more so about our perspectives of life in general, and I'm expecting to be humbled like never before. I'm also extremely excited about getting to know all of you and experiencing this incredible opportunity together. At this point, the only thing about the trip that I'm nervous about is raising enough money to go. It's something I've been struggling with for a while now, and my financial situation almost caused me to not apply for the trip. However, God has made it overwhelmingly clear that this is what I'm supposed to do, and it seems that with each passing day I'm becoming more confident about every aspect of this trip.

With all that said, I'm ready for us to have our worlds rocked by God as we go through this life-changing experience together. I'm praying for all of you and I hope to see y'all soon!
